2019 GMC Sierra engine fuel economy specs

Future 2019 GMC Sierra has been spotted during road testing in California. This new Sierra 2019 should share most of it production details with Silverado truck. Biggest change on upcoming Sierra GMC is going to be chassis. Production platform that will be used by GMC for new Sierra will be made from high-strength steel. This way, new 2019 Sierra will be stiffer, but at the same time much lighter than its predecessor. Both towing capacity and payload should be improved on the upcoming Sierra 2019. GMC will probably extend use of aluminum on their new Sierra truck. This will include all aluminum cab, aluminum hood and aluminum fenders. However, Sierra will still have bed with steel construction in order to keep its ruggedness. Speaking of exterior design changes, front fascia will feature new bumper and headlights design, as well as new cab. Inside the cabin, Sierra will probably have very similar interior to the one found on the Silverado.

2019 GMC Sierra engine and fuel economy

2019 GMC Sierra engine will probably remain old 4.3-liter naturally aspirated V6 unit. It is expected that GMC somehow improve power output for this V6 engine. We believe it could produce more than 300 horsepower. Second engine choice will be 5.3-liter V8 powertrain. Top of the range 2019 Sierra will be powered by big and strong 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8. This engine will probably produce around 450 horsepower. All engines will be equipped with 10-speed automatic transmission as standard. Rear-wheel drive will be offered as standard equipment as well. However, Sierra fans should not worry because four-wheel drive system will be available as optional upgrade.
