First model of Honda’s famous CR-V compact crossover was released back in 1995. Since then, it had many redesigned versions, with last one being released as fifth generation in 2016. In the near future, we are expecting to see new 2019 Honda CR-V SUV. Production of upcoming CR-V 2019 will be based on Honda Civic model. Many design solutions will be borrowed from current Honda cars. For example, future 2019 CR-V will get headlights looking like one found on the Acura, as well as the chassis from Civic. Other than that, some speculations indicate that CR-V will be more aggressive and sportier. Rumor has it that CR-V for 2019 will also get new front bumper, as well as bigger new grille. Honda will offer LX, EX, EX-L and Touring trims.
2019 Honda CR-V engine and fuel economy specs
2019 Honda CR-V engine range should carry over from the current model. This includes 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with direct injection and 2.4-liter powertrain. LX version of CR-V is powered by 2.4-liter engine, while other trims will get 1.5-liter unit. It will not be as surprise if we see one or two new engine choices added to the current lineup. CR-V engines will be mated to an either CVT transmission or 6-speed manual gearbox. All models will have standard front-wheel drive, while top of the range version will get all-wheel drive system as optional upgrade. There are some speculations about 2019 Honda CR-V plug-in hybrid, but that is still all unofficial and it has not been confirmed. It is said that hybrid will be powered by 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine along with two electric motors.
